We support health leaders and partners in designing and implementing evidence-based initiatives that strengthen health systems and improve lives.

In 2018, we developed the Food and Water-Borne Diseases Manual of Operations for the Department of Health – Disease Prevention and Control Bureau. This comprehensive manual provided clear guidance on prevention, surveillance, and response to food and water-borne diseases. It enhanced policy implementation and program management across all levels of the health system, ensuring communities are better protected from these diseases.

From November 2016, we facilitated the Strategic Planning Workshop for 2017 to 2021 for the Department of Health – Region IV-A. The workshop guided the development of the region’s health priorities and action plans, ensuring they aligned with national goals while addressing local needs. This resulted in a clear and actionable roadmap that strengthened program implementation and service delivery across CALABARZON.

Between June and December 2016, we produced the Contraceptive Prevalence Rate Health Manager’s Guide Using LQAS Methodology for the United Nations Population Fund through the Philippine Society on Responsible Parenthood in North Cotabato, Sarangani, Sultan Kudarat, and Quezon City. The guide enabled health managers to conduct rapid assessments, providing local data to inform family planning program strategies and decisions that better respond to community needs.

Through these strategic planning and policy support projects, APMARGIN continues to strengthen the capacity of health leaders and partners to design, implement, and sustain initiatives that improve health systems and outcomes for Filipino communities.
